Quality Manufacture

Throughout yarn selection, garment design, manufacturing processes and attention to detail, our focus is always on the highest quality and producing finest Scottish knitwear available.

Natural Fibres

With an emphasis on natural fibres we work with the finest Scottish and Italian yarns available on the market. From our classic Supersoft Shetland sourced and spun locally in Aberdeenshire, through our superfine Lambswool to the finest Scottish Cashmere. All yarns selected are carefully tested and graded for our quality sweaters and created for the demands of our highly discerning customers.

Provenance

Our knitwear is made with care in Scotland and we carefully source all our yarns according to their quality and sustainability standards. We care about the environment and the ethical sourcing of our raw materials.

Zero Waste

Seam-free whole garment knitting means our knitwear is knitted flatbed tubular “in the round” and cast off the machines as a complete sweater. We are proud to offer our knitwear to market with zero waste.

Materials

100% Pure New Wool

Care

We would recommend hand-washing your Harley of Scotland superfine wool sweater in lukewarm water using a specialist hand wash soap, rinse several times in clean lukewarm water then gently squeeze to remove excess water. Lay flat to dry on a flat surface – easing gently back into shape whilst damp. If required, iron on a cool setting using a damp cloth to protect your garment. You may also dry clean your sweater using a specialist dry cleaner.

Do not use bleach or use detergents of any kind – especially detergents containing OBA’s (Optical Brightening Agents) as these can cause damage to delicate wool fibres and never mix colours whilst handwashing.

Soft and luxurious fibres such as the high-quality wools used in our sweaters are shorter staple fibres gently twisted as woollen spun yarns to preserve their luxurious handle and lightweight. As such, some degree of pilling can be expected in the initial stages. The gentle use of a wool comb will remove the excess fibres in the blend and this will settle once the garment is in use.
